There are multiple theaters located near Union Square. The area happens to also be home to the world-famous A.C.T., the largest theater company in the San Francisco Bay Area. During the past four decades, more than 300 A.C.T. productions have been seen in the company's magnificent Beaux Arts–style theater located in the heart of San Francisco's Union Square theater district. There is a ticket booth located on Union Square where you can purchase deeply discounted same day tickets most major shows.

Art Galleries

San Francisco is known for its growing and ever-changing art scene. Union Square boasts a variety of art galleries showcasing traditional art, fine art photography, paintings, prints, sculpture, glass, vintage art and more. During the day, local vendors set up on the square encouraging your perusal of their crafts. You can also see the Hearts installations at multiple corners of the square itself.
